A WOMAN has died after a huge explosion tore through her home in a devastating blast.
The horror blaze broke out at the property in Canterbury Road, Charing, at around 11.30am yesterday.
Emergency services airlifted the woman, in a serious condition, to King’s College Hospital, in London.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) confirmed the tragic news of her death today.
The cause of the explosion is not yet known.
Five fire engines, a bulk water carrier and a fire investigation team, were called to the scene and remained there until around 9.30pm last night.
Investigators are looking at the possibility the blast may have been the result of a gas leak.
A neighbour who heard the explosion told KentOnline: “It was an unimaginable bang – everything shook and you can see where the bungalow was.
“You wouldn’t wish it on anyone.”
