A WOMAN has appeared in court accused of stabbing a mum to death in front of her child at a birthday party.
Hope Rowe, 32, allegedly pulled a knife from her handbag and attacked 31-year-old Charlotte Lawlor.
She appeared at the Old Bailey today charged with murder following the horror in Stepney Green, East London.
The court was told there was a “verbal disagreement” between Rowe and Charlotte during the birthday bash.
Rowe allegedly attacked the victim before knifing her to death in the foyer of a block of flats.
Prosecutor Charlotte Newell KC said Charlotte was with her child at the time.
Rowe, of Whitechapel, East London, was remanded into custody ahead of a hearing on December 2.
No pleas were entered but a provisional trial date was set for June 9.
The horror allegedly unfolded in the early hours of September 15 when police were called to reports of a woman with stab injuries.
Tragically Charlotte couldn’t be saved and was declared dead at the scene.
The Met Police has confirmed her family has been informed.
A 37-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released on bail.
Acting Detective Chief Inspector Ben Dalloway of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, leading the investigationsaid: “This is a tragic incident which has resulted in a young woman losing her life.
“Those involved appear to be known to each other and were present at the address during the course of the evening.
“While this investigation is in its early stages, we have made significant progress and arrested two people.
“At this time, we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.
“Officers will continue to carry out vital work at the location and I would ask residents to remain patient while we do this.
“I would also ask if anyone saw anything or has information that could assist us then please make contact.”
