ROBERT F. Kennedy Jr.’s wild cheating admissions have resurfaced following news of his latest scandal.
Kennedy Jr. and journalist Olivia Nuzzi reportedly engaged in a non-physical relationship after she wrote a piece on him for New York Magazine.
Kennedy Jr. was legally married to Mary Richardson Kennedy until her death by suicide in 2012, though they were separated pending divorce.
Richardson found a red journal in the couple’s home containing scathing details of Kennedy Jr.’s conquests – which reportedly included 37 women, per the New York Post.
But the latest news of Kennedy Jr.’s “personal relationship” involved standout political journalist Olivia Nuzzi, who wrote a piece on the former presidential candidate for New York Magazine in 2023.
Nuzzi admitted to the relationship, disclosing that she “had engaged in a personal relationship with a former subject relevant to the 2024 campaign while she was reporting on the campaign.”
New York Magazine announced Nuzzi had been placed on leave following the revelation.
“Had the magazine been aware of this relationship, she would not have continued to cover the presidential campaign,” the statement read in part.
In a statement released to multiple outlets, Nuzzi acknowledged “the nature of some communication between myself and a former reporting subject turned personal.”
“The relationship was never physical but should have been disclosed to prevent the appearance of a conflict.”
Meanwhile, a Kennedy Jr. spokesperson told multiple outlets: “Mr. Kennedy only met Olivia Nuzzi once in his life for an interview she requested, which yielded a hit piece.”
The U.S. Sun has reached out to Kennedy Jr. and Nuzzi for comment.
DIARY DETAILS
Kennedy Jr. has denied the red journals belonged to him.
“I don’t think there is any way you could have a diary or journal of mine from 2001,” Kennedy told the New York Post.
“I don’t have any comment on it. I have no diary from 2001.”
However, the diaries – and their unsettling content – were reviewed by the outlet.
The names of 37 women were recorded in the diaries, each with a corresponding number one through 10.
Richardson told a confidant that the numbers represented different sexual acts, the Post reported.
New York Magazine’s Full Statement
New York Magazine released a statement acknowledging Olivia Nuzzi has been placed on leave following her reported non-physical relationship with RFK Jr. while she was writing about the 2024 presidential election.
“Recently our Washington Correspondent Olivia Nuzzi acknowledged to the magazine’s editors that she had engaged in a personal relationship with a former subject relevant to the 2024 campaign while she was reporting on the campaign, a violation of the magazine’s standards around conflicts of interest and disclosures.
“Had the magazine been aware of this relationship, she would not have continued to cover the presidential campaign.
“An internal review of her published work has found no inaccuracies nor evidence of bias.
“She is currently on leave from the magazine, and the magazine is conducting a more thorough third-party review.
“We regret this violation of our readers’ trust.”
While jailed in Puerto Rico in 2001 for protesting the US Navy’s bombing exercises in Vieques, Kennedy Jr. wrote in the diary about his “greatest defect . . . my lust demons.”
Kennedy Jr. is no stranger to martial entanglements, with some of his relationships having overlapped.
He met his first wife, Emily Ruth Black while studying law at the University of Virginia.
They were married from 1982 to 1994 and had two children, Robert “Bobby” Kennedy III and Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy.
Just weeks after his marriage to Black ended, he wed Richardson, whom he was dating during his separation.
Kennedy Jr. and Richardson had four children, Conor, Kyra, Aidan, and William “Finn” Kennedy.
At the time of Richardson’s 2012 death, Kennedy Jr. was reportedly already dating Cheryl Hines.
In 2014, he wed Hines, to whom he remains married.
STANDOUT JOURNO
Nuzzi, the Washington correspondent for New York Magazine, continued to cover the 2024 election after her initial piece on Kennedy Jr. went live in November 2023.
She’s covered the Trump campaign heavily, reporting from Mar-a-Lago as recently as a few weeks ago.
Trump endorsed Kennedy Jr. after the Independent presidential candidate bowed out of the race on August 23.
Nuzzi also wrote about former Trump attorney Michael Cohen, as well as the GOP presidential candidate’s hush money trial.
IN FLAMES
Nuzzi, meanwhile, was engaged to reporter and author Ryan Lizza.
The couple announced their engagement on Instagram on September 22, 2022.
However, in recent weeks, it’s been reported that the engagement has been called off.
The U.S. Sun has reached out to Lizza for comment.
Olivia Nuzzi Statement
New York Magazine’s Washington correspondent, Olivia Nuzzi, released the following statement after reports of her relationship with RFK Jr. surfaced:
“Earlier this year, the nature of some communication between myself and a former reporting subject turned personal.
“During that time, I did not directly report on the subject nor use them as a source.
“The relationship was never physical but should have been disclosed to prevent the appearance of a conflict.
“I deeply regret not doing so immediately and apologize to those I’ve disappointed, especially my colleagues at New York.”
