Both ladies were spotted grappling with each other on Parliament Row as a can spills its contents beneath the scuffle.

The person recording the video told Stoke-on-Trent Live: “There was a big fight between two women.”

As they continue to wrestle in broad daylight one of the women brutally yanks woman in white shorts and platform shoes down to the ground by her hair.

Those observing the commotion can be heard shouting “get off her now” and “both of you stop.”

Other bystanders are seen casually walking past the scene, appearing unconcerned.

As one woman lay on top of the other, a passer by made an unsuccessful attempt to ‘shoo’ one of the brawlers away.

A second civilian also tried to intervene but had no luck.

The fight finally subsided as a third member of the public physically pulls one of the women off the other – leaving one laying in the road.

This comes as two men were fighting in the same area alongside alongside Waterstones between Tontine Street and Parliament Row a week prior.

One of these men was even branding a hammer and the frightening event was caught on camera.

The incident occurred in the middle of the day with the footage depicting two men squaring up to each other in an alleyway.

A small crowd appears as the horrifying hammer fight breaks out.

The police, Stoke-on-Trent City Council and business leaders have claimed they are continuing work to make the city centre a safe place to live, work and shop.

Cabinet member for community safety and resilience Councillor David Williams said: “We’ve heard you when you tell us you’re concerned about anti-social behaviour in our city centre. I know you have real concerns about it and so too, do our local businesses in the city.

“We will continue to work alongside Staffordshire Police to reduce and prevent crime and anti-social behaviour so that Hanley is a great place for all of us.

“Please do come into Hanley and do support local businesses as they really do deserve our support.”
