A BRITISH property tycoon, dubbed the “poshest neighbour from hell,” hosted all-night Ibiza-style parties with “thumping” music in his £65million house.
Dad-of-three Giles Mackay infuriated locals with the noisy bashes reportedly held with Serbian socialite Khristina Sysoeva at his Kensington mansion.
The 62-year-old’s life away from the boardroom was often captured in the headlines with the millionaire’s lavish parties at the forefront.
In 2018, he appeared before the City of London magistrates for breaching a noise abatement order during an “end of the world” themed party.
The court heard how his all-night parties had become a sensation for the rich and young Londoners.
Photos from the Mackays’ parties can still be viewed today, showing how one event in 2015 featured a laser light show over the property’s pool.
The millionaire Brit, born in Surrey, was forced to pay £7,402 after pleading guilty to breaching the noise abatement order.
Police had arrived at the property at 4am to find “thumping” music, the court heard.
Mackay offered to pay the fine on the spot at the City of London Magistrates’ Court and was slammed for having a “total disregard for his neighbours”.
He claimed that his “well-organised” party didn’t exceed 50 decibels.
However, district Judge Mike Snow said: “What we know is that sitting in their car with the windows up and engine running 30 metres away, officers could hear the music.”
Furious neighbours had blasted the millionaire over his parties after he was fined.
‘IT’S UNBEARABLE’
One woman, who did not wish to be named, said: “They blast house music, which I can only describe as drug music. It’s unbearable. I have no idea how many he’s had – countless.”
Another said the music sounded like he had “just come back from Ibiza”.
She said: “He has these parties all the time. It’s throbbing music.
“It often starts at 3am or 4am and goes on for hours. It wouldn’t be so bad if he didn’t have speakers in the back garden and on the roof terrace.
“He’s famous for his Halloween parties. The last one lasted all day and all night and didn’t stop until noon the next day.
“Hundreds of people go to them, they set up marquees and have security guards.”
Nearest to a Ferrari you’ll ever get is a toy one
Giles Mackay
The property tycoon reportedly hosted all-night parties with his on-off girlfriend Khristina, 37.
He got with the Siberian socialite after his marriage to wife Caroline broke down, Mail Online reports.
The millionaire’s ex-wife accused Mackay of hiding his true wealth from her.
He appeared on the Sunday Times Rich List in 2008 with a net worth of an eye-watering £85million.
However, his wealth skyrocketed after he sold his firm Hometrack, which analyses the property market, for a whopping £120million.
Mackay made headlines in 2012 after falling out with the design team he hired to build his home on the site of a former 1930s telephone exchange in The Boltons.
A judge called him “combative and aggressive” and ordered him to pay a staggering £3.2million in damages for unpaid work.
During his dispute with the contractors, Mackay reportedly told one that their home could “fit into my dining room” and added that the “nearest to a Ferrari you’ll ever get is a toy one.”
He also said that the wife of another business partner was “avaricious and jealous” and “needing a f***ing good slap”.
Mackay recently sold the property, notorious for hosting his late-night parties, to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, for £65million.
The mega mansion features nine bedrooms, a glass lift, a basement swimming pool and a cinema.
The British businessman has since moved to the tax haven Monaco.
Mackay built his fortune by founding a series of technology companies in the UK and later investing in several properties.
These ventures included Heylo, offering shared ownership to first-time homebuyers, and Upstix, providing cash offers for house sales.
It comes after a Channel 4 star was accused of swindling £2million from renting out an exclusive home to tenants in London.
